Presently, IIT JEE is a one tier objective type examination consisting of two papers, the Main stage and the Advanced stage. Each paper is of three hours duration, having separate sections of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. These questions basically test the comprehending and the analytical skill of the examinees. Only those students who clear the Main stage are eligible to appear for the Advanced stage. The candidates can opt for both the online and the offline mode for appearing in the exams. There are thirty questions out of which the correct ones are awarded four marks and incorrect ones deduct one mark each. From the year 2017, there will be a compulsory Science Aptitude test as the first phase of the exam.
The Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who are appearing for their final year board examinations are eligible to appear for this exam, subject to the fact that they secure 60% in their plus two examination.
